Family Weekend 2013 - October 18 - 20

Family Weekend is one of our most exciting fall programs here at Mason.  We encourage all families to join us for a university-wide celebration and attend events designed to allow families to meet one another, become familiar with university staff and administrators, and spend time with their students.

Family of the Year Award

The third annual Alan and Sally Merten Family of the Year Award will be presented at Family Weekend 2013. This award was established to recognize the critical role families play in their student's experience at Mason and to remind us that families are an essential part of the support network for our students. The 2013 Family of the Year will receive the following:

1.A commemorative plaque presented at the Family Weekend Welcome Dinner on Friday, October 18

2. All fees associated with Family Weekend registration will be waived or refunded if already paid in full (up to $500 will be covered)

3. A $250 gift card for the Mason student to use at the University Bookstore

4. A featured article in an upcoming edition of the Mason Family Flash and on the Orientation and Family Programs and Services web site.

All Mason undergraduate students have the opportunity to nominate their family by either writing an essay or creating a short video essay that describes why their family is worthy of this honor.
