Freshman Orientation

The University’s Freshman Orientation Program is designed to acclimate and transition new students and their families to the institution, expose new students to the broad educational opportunities of Mason, and integrate new students and their families into the life of the institution. The Mason Orientation program promotes student development, academic acclimation and preparation, school spirit, and accountability among Mason students and their families.  The program and staff encourage student’s self-growth, learning, and understanding their own relationship to the intellectual, social, and cultural climate of George Mason University. University Orientation is offered through the summer for students enrolling in the Fall semester and again in December and January for students enrolling in the Spring semester. All students must attend an Orientation session in order to register for classes.
